rommates with Red

Many of you may not know, but I am roommates with someone you may know as "Red Robin". Emily works for Red Robin and when they told her they were bringing "the Bird" back, she was so excited and asked to be the first to wear the suit. So Syrell and I went down there to see her in all of her glory, and I tell you what, she is one fine bird! She just really made me laugh so hard patting all the little kids on the head.  Now Emily and I have had many adventures together these last few weeks that I think are so worth mentioning. The last few Tuesdays it has been AMAZING weather and for some reason, she nor I had much to do those days.  So one day we packed a healthy Taco Bell lunch and went up to the canyon to have a picnic. Sadly, we found there were mostly dead trees and heaps of snow still on the ground, but it was so lovely nonetheless. I felt it so odd that now that the weather is changing, the green has not instantly blossomed on all the trees. But we loved sitting and basking in the sun.
Then the next Tuesday, it was even more beautiful outside! So we took our longboards and went for an adventure. We explored areas around our complex and rode onto 7 Eleven and purchased the finest slurpies. We reminisced about the days when we were little and got to play outside without a care in the world until dinner at 5:30. And how we would rush home and hope our moms got pizza so we could sit and enjoy TGIF on tv in the best way. It was such a perfect day. I enjoy having a roommate who loves to play as much as I do outside. When the weather is so wonderful, it's too hard to be indoors. Thanks Em!

The Latest...

Recently, I packed up my Western self and moved out East to a little place called Virginia. My parents relocated out here about 2 years ago, so it was time I check out VA for myself. It is in the DC metro area, so we spend lots of fun time in the city or in the country. I am still working as a pediatric nurse and looking to maybe move towards the non-profit or political side of health care. I gained a new family member in the form of a Chinese exchange student named Donna, and I love being with my parents again. Life is good.
