Silver Lake

Yesterday, Brenner had the best idea to hike up to Silver Lake in American Fork Canyon. We were all a little hesitant because it was quite cloudy and looked like rain was on the horizon.
But as soon as we got to the reservoir to start our hike, I was so glad I went.
It's times like being in the middle of a vast canyon surrounded by the most breath-taking scene that one can't help but feel his nothingness and the amazingness of God.  One of my favorite songs has the lyrics to describe exactly how I felt..."Through the years and the days though we're so far away, He created a way to be close."  I can't help but feel close to God when surrounded by something so incredible and it's in those moments that I know that only someone full of majesty and love could create such a place.  It just goes to show that this earth is really meant for our joy.  (Do yourself a favor and click on it to make it big...then you may feel a little more of what I'm describing).
The boys crossing the first stick bridge...we felt a little like Sassy, Chance, and Shadow during Homeward Bound.

Let's introduce the gang... Mesa + 1.   JJ Bittner, Brady Freeman, Me, Brenner Freeman, and Derek Clegg.

Scene from Twilight...anyone? This was Silver Lake yesterday. The clouds were so low, there was snow (yes, snow!!) still on the mountains, and a waterfall below. So lovely. I contemplated moving in.
Brenner let me borrow his Marmot.  It got a LOT wet on the way back...it looked like we took a swim in the lake by the time we trekked back through the rain.  It was an adventure I'd say.
This is my favorite picture of the day.  We decided this picture looks like it belongs under Brenner's bio in the front cover of his first novel.

The Latest...

Recently, I packed up my Western self and moved out East to a little place called Virginia. My parents relocated out here about 2 years ago, so it was time I check out VA for myself. It is in the DC metro area, so we spend lots of fun time in the city or in the country. I am still working as a pediatric nurse and looking to maybe move towards the non-profit or political side of health care. I gained a new family member in the form of a Chinese exchange student named Donna, and I love being with my parents again. Life is good.
