Hobbies...so nice to have one now.

So this has been my little hobby since I moved out here. Angie and I planted it first thing upon our arrival to get rid of the cigarette butts and spiderwebs. So we tilled the earth and sewed our lovely garden. Yes, we uprooted hundreds of ants and spiders from their home but don't worry, we washed them out with some kitchen cleaner. I love flowers and it was so fun to plant them and have them to always look at. The cross in the middle (which was accidental) is shaped by our leftover kitchen counter tiles. Our landlord left all this trash for us to get rid of and they were too heavy to heave to the trash, so we just put them to good use. Angie and I love to open our curtains in the morning and see our cultivated garden. Sometimes I find Angie just sitting out in the garden Indian-style. It's our little get-away.

Way to till the earth Katie!!! I just love your garden. I am sure it is nice to grow one there because it is so moist. I tried to plant some flowers from seeds and was so proud, they came sprouting up and I was so happy. But then the cruel AZ sun killed them...so my little heart was crushed, but your story has lifted my spirits! ha Maybe I will try again? Love you-

Cool garden. The small space makes it easier to take care of too.

The Latest...

Recently, I packed up my Western self and moved out East to a little place called Virginia. My parents relocated out here about 2 years ago, so it was time I check out VA for myself. It is in the DC metro area, so we spend lots of fun time in the city or in the country. I am still working as a pediatric nurse and looking to maybe move towards the non-profit or political side of health care. I gained a new family member in the form of a Chinese exchange student named Donna, and I love being with my parents again. Life is good.
