23

So 23 is officially here. I don't feel really any different except for a few lbs. heavier from all the tasty birthday foods I downed. My birthday was really quite a fun day. In the afternoon Mash (syrell's boy), syrell and I all went up to the canyon and longboarded all the way down. It was Amazing with a capital "A". The weather was so beautiful with the sun shinning and the river running alongside us as the trees bent over our path. We barely had to push at all so we just turned on the ipods and enjoyed the ride. It was by far one of the funnest things I have done since I've been up here. It's nice to be outdoors again.

Matthew sent me these tulips for my bday and he knows me so well. Tulips are definitely my favorite of any flower and they certainly lit up our apartment and made my day. What a surprise! Thanks daddles! It was so nice to hear from my fam and friends too.The night before my birthday my dear lady friends from work (I call them ladies from work because that's how I know them, but they are way better than boring old work friends)-Kayloni and Shay-went to the ballet with me. Dr. Whiting gave us free tickets so we went on quite the romantic date and had so much fun. Then afterwards, they took me out to mexican food for my birthday because I was telling them that that's what I eat every single year on my birthday. I was complaining about the sad excuses for mexican food that utah has around here (I miss Tia Rosa's!) and so they took me to the place they treasured most....Los Hermanos. We had the time of our lives and ate ourselves into oblivion. Afterward they decorated my car so I couldn't be missed from outerspace. I had people honking at me all day and I was thinking "what's the deal people?" until I realized it said "honk, it's my birthday" on the back. Thanks ladies! And thanks for the Los Hermanos shirt that I will be wearing to get my free drinks....
Taryn and Syrell took me out on my bday to the Old Spaghetti Factory and oh was it tasty. I love almost nothing more than going out to eat. I mean, I sit while someone serves me and then cleans up after me. I can go home full and happy, ready for a nap without the guilt of having to clean the kitchen. And my absolute favorite is when the waitors sang happy birthday to me. I know it tends to bring on awkward feelings for some, but I just sat and basked in my birthday glory. Thanks girls. They really made my day so special.

Mary kate- so I was going through a bunch of stuff last night and found a love letter from Jordan trying to win back my affections reminding me of our first moonlight cruise and that he was the one who saw me first! Ha! It made me miss you. We need to watch Holiday in the Sun sometime soon! -Ashley

The Latest...

Recently, I packed up my Western self and moved out East to a little place called Virginia. My parents relocated out here about 2 years ago, so it was time I check out VA for myself. It is in the DC metro area, so we spend lots of fun time in the city or in the country. I am still working as a pediatric nurse and looking to maybe move towards the non-profit or political side of health care. I gained a new family member in the form of a Chinese exchange student named Donna, and I love being with my parents again. Life is good.
