around the house

This week we were privileged to fine dine with one of Korea's finest cooks. Well Mash isn't exactly Korean, but he went on his mission there and came back trained in the art of cooking some of their specialties. I was a little hesitant to try his cuisine at first because some Korean food is a little iffy, but he came over and made us the yummiest food. He treated us like we were at a restaurant and served us all our food and even did the dishes! All I can say is that I sure enjoyed it.

And this is a little get-to-know Katie moment. I used to spend a lot of my time playing the guitar in high school and then for some reason after, I kind of neglected it for a while. Then when I moved up here, my mom let me bring her guitar and so I have become quite attached to it again. There is something about playing the guitar that is so fulfilling. Music, for me, is the best outlet for my emotions and has very a strong affect on the way I feel. For those of you who know me well, there is rarely a silent moment. I am usually always listening to something or another. That is why playing the guitar is so great. I can sit and play a song to fit whatever mood I am in. It has become a great little companion. And shout out to Jake...I sure miss hearing him play everyday and he is the one who inspired me to pick up the guitar again. Go to jake and sarah's blog and listen to their new song. I am so darn proud and I have showed it to everyone so their fan club is growing here. Just changing the world one life at a time.

The Latest...

Recently, I packed up my Western self and moved out East to a little place called Virginia. My parents relocated out here about 2 years ago, so it was time I check out VA for myself. It is in the DC metro area, so we spend lots of fun time in the city or in the country. I am still working as a pediatric nurse and looking to maybe move towards the non-profit or political side of health care. I gained a new family member in the form of a Chinese exchange student named Donna, and I love being with my parents again. Life is good.
