4th and much more...

Our 4th of July was sure fun this year.  We wanted to make it really special so we woke up, got all decked out,  and walked over to the Provo Parade right behind our apartments.  The crazy thing about this parade is that EVERYONE goes.  People even set up tents to stake out good spots at about 5 pm the night before.  So we went and watched the marching bands, the bagpipes (my personal fav) and the beauty queens.  It was so festive!  The group that got the most cheers was the Provo Missionaries.  I ran and got a picture in front of them because I thought of Kim.  This will be you marching next year missy!!
Then later that day we had a BBQ with our friends Zach, Jordan, Daniel and others from the ward.  Nothing like a BBQ on the 4th right?
That night those boys played in a soccer game because they are on the BYU soccer team.  Taryn, Syrell and I made some rockin signs that I am sure they were so proud of.  We sure made the people behind us into enemies, but anything to show spirit!
I thought Taryn was so clever because she was the mastermind of our conglomerate signs.  They read "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Jordan and Zach!"  Funny huh?  We were in the all-American spirit.
Then after the game was over, we ran onto the field and set up our blankets and watched the fireworks that were for the Stadium of Fire.  I was sad I missed the Hannah Montana performance from inside the stadium, but I guess I had to spare my seat for the 12 year-olds.  It was a great day and so nice to be with family and people I love.  The 4th of July is one of my very favorite holidays and I am so grateful for the men and women who have and are currently sacrificing their lives and time on my behalf (that includes you Dad and Mom!).  I can't imagine not being able to worship the way I believe or not being able to live the dream of becoming anything I aspire to.  I sure am so grateful for my freedoms.

To move on to other days of the summer....
This is a picture of the same crowd again but at bowling night.  It was so much fun because we decided to spice things up and play "Add-On Bowling" where we had to do crazy moves all the way down the lane until it was time to bowl.  How it worked was the person bowling had to add a dance move on top of the moves that the all the people who bowled before them did.  It was not so easy, but it was my good excuse for a bad score...Other times I actually have tried hard and still end up with the same score.  It was a good time.
One night all these friends...again...went to the Boondocks.  Yeah, I love the name too.  It's a place where they have laser tag, indie cars, arcade games, and much more. I loved it!  My other cousin Lauren came along as well and this is our Infamous (more than famous) pose where we are posing like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.  For those of you who know and enjoy the movie...yes, it did feel like we were surrounded by sea horses.

Katie, please know that I am jealous that you had the ability to purchase and use fireworks legally on the Fourth. You know the rule in AZ. This year I think was the first that I didn't even go watch fireworks. Glad to hear your having fun wherever life is taking you.

The Latest...

Recently, I packed up my Western self and moved out East to a little place called Virginia. My parents relocated out here about 2 years ago, so it was time I check out VA for myself. It is in the DC metro area, so we spend lots of fun time in the city or in the country. I am still working as a pediatric nurse and looking to maybe move towards the non-profit or political side of health care. I gained a new family member in the form of a Chinese exchange student named Donna, and I love being with my parents again. Life is good.
