24-but not jack bauer style

For my birthday Taryn and Syrell were so good to me and threw a dessert night for me. They made my favorite treats; mud pie, cupcakes and Emily made yummy brownies. I love this picture. And the small bonfire on the table was just my candles. You'd think I was 100. Kara, Betsy and Syrell are the lovely girls next to me from left to right.
Let me introduce you to some of my closest friends that I am around the most up here. First up is Kara and Syrell.
Next we have Taryn, Mark, and Tate. Mark is my home teacher and his roommate Tate is a frequent flier at the Salmon apartment. I forgot to give Tate credit for helping make the mud pie.
Me and my lovely Taryn. It's not going to be the same up here minus our Taryn.
Overall, it was such a good day. It was so relaxing and I got to be with the some of the people I love most. Nothing better...And I must say, I feel younger, wiser, and better looking! I can feel this is going to be a rockin' year. It's my year. I can't believe how life keeps gettin better everyday. I am really one lucky girl and I am excited to see what's in store this year. I know I should start feeling older, but I really don't feel an ounce different than I did when I was 18.  I just keep feeling that any age I am is the new 18. Here's to 24, the new 18! It's funny if you would've asked me years ago where I thought i'd be today, I would never have thought here. Today I was talking to my roommate emily and wondering if i should just come to grips with the fact that I am 24 and need to do something "older and more distinguished" and she reminded me that there is no better time than now to live out our dreams, no matter the age we are. Do what makes us happy, even if it doesn't fit the norm. So here's a little shout out to everyone who still feels 18 and has many adventures to still be had! And because of that, I'm lovin life and feel happier than I could ever hope for.

The Latest...

Recently, I packed up my Western self and moved out East to a little place called Virginia. My parents relocated out here about 2 years ago, so it was time I check out VA for myself. It is in the DC metro area, so we spend lots of fun time in the city or in the country. I am still working as a pediatric nurse and looking to maybe move towards the non-profit or political side of health care. I gained a new family member in the form of a Chinese exchange student named Donna, and I love being with my parents again. Life is good.
