true happiness

Tonight was one of the most special nights I have experienced in awhile.  Let me give some background info so I can include you on the specialness of the night.
About two weeks ago, the Mormon missionaries found out that my dad speaks Chinese, so they asked him to help teach a Chinese girl about the Gospel.  So this past Sunday she came to our house for the second time and we had another discussion about repentance and being forgiven for our sins (wiped clean) because of Christ's Atonement for us.  It was so amazing to hear it again and to hear it explained to someone who was learning it for the first time in her life because she never knew she could be forgiven.  She has such pure faith and it strengthens me.

Tonight, my parents, Donna, the missionaries (Elder Liepmann and Elder Tye), and I went to the D.C. Temple to watch the Joseph Smith video about the Restoration of the Gospel.  The feelings were so strong and Donna was glowing.  We all talked about how it really hit home with each of us tonight, even though most of us had already seen the video. My own testimony has been strengthened and tonight it was lifted even more as we learned of the Prophet Joseph Smith and the truthfulness of this Gospel. Donna says she has already seen blessings in her life and I have seen so many in my own life.  Donna is getting baptized in two weeks and we are so excited.  I love this Gospel and I know it's true.  I don't just believe, I know.  I love my Savior and I am so grateful to know I am a daughter of God and that this Gospel is for everyone. Heavenly Father does hear and answer our prayers, just not always in the time and way we think.  I was having an adjustment period lately with changes and such, but the Lord has picked me up and reminded me of His love for me. I'm grateful to be even a small part of all of this.

simply stated: true happiness comes from knowing who you are and who you've been all along.

That is truly a wonderful story. The Gospel is true, and the D.C Temple is such a great sight to see.

The Latest...

Recently, I packed up my Western self and moved out East to a little place called Virginia. My parents relocated out here about 2 years ago, so it was time I check out VA for myself. It is in the DC metro area, so we spend lots of fun time in the city or in the country. I am still working as a pediatric nurse and looking to maybe move towards the non-profit or political side of health care. I gained a new family member in the form of a Chinese exchange student named Donna, and I love being with my parents again. Life is good.
